A first for a Hyundai vehicle, Hidden Lighting Lamps are a design innovation that incorporates state-of-the-art lighting technology, forming the Sonata’s light architecture. The Hidden Lighting Lamps appear to be chrome when switched off and become dramatically lit when turned on. 

Early adopters of LED lighting will remember 50,000 hour or even 100,000 hour lifetime ratings printed on the box. But during a recent trip to the hardware store the longest advertised lifetime I found was 25,000 hours. Others claimed only 7,500 or 15,000 hours. And yes, these are brand-name bulbs from Cree and GE.

Interestingly. all of the LED fixtures we have designed and manufactured ourselves (low and high output … 20000 lumen) have had an extremely low failure rates (about 1 in 10000… a cap crapped out) over the past 5 years and so it would appear that it is possible to have high reliability LED fixtures

Upgrading your light switches to dimmer switches is one way to do it (and not nearly as intimidating as you might be thinking if you've never switched one out before). There are also smart plugs from brands like Lutron that'll let you dim your lamps up and down.

The EPLC2-LED-150W-RT-JB2-50C is a Class I Division 2, Class II Divisions 1 & 2 and Class III Divisions 1 & 2 explosion proof LED light with an output of 17,500 lumens, drawing just 150 watts. With a color temperature of 5600K and a color rendering index of 75, this light allows operators to see colors and details more accurately. This adjustable LED light is perfect for replacing metal halide floodlights that are too fragile for explosive environments and run too hot.

I bought a 90-W equivalent LED floodlight at Home Depot several years ago. It’s obsolete now, but was state-of-the-art when I purchased it. My first abuse was to drop it, which cracked the glass lens. It’s a PAR38-style waterproof exterior light, but I use it to light my desk area inside. The crack was no problem for the last few years. A few months ago, one of the LEDs inside the lamp seemed to turn blue. It was time for a teardown (Fig. 1).

If you want efficiency, you’d rather replace the standard 48″ tubes with standard 48″ tubes with an electronic ballast. They beat most LED products on the market on luminous efficacy (lm/W), except colored LEDs and some poor quality white LEDs that are actually light blue.

The lighting concept for the station concourse, escalator and platform areas aims to emphasise the spatial envelope rather than the light fittings themselves, while LEDs were selected to reduce energy and maintenance requirements, and thus lifecycle costs.  

To choose and buy the right kind of solar motion sensor light , you will have to be very careful in doing so. Because the solar motion sensor light come in a wide range of types, having different characteristics and capabilities and if you don’t concentrate on each and every aspect, then you surely would miss out the best one for you.

Remember how I mentioned heat buildup affecting LED performance? We test for that by running each bulb for 90 minutes and measuring how much the initial brightness dips as the bulb's electronics get warm. Just like your laptop, your phone and most other electronic devices, LEDs don't perform as well when they get hot. Specifically, the brightness will fall a little bit in the first 30 minutes or so of use before stabilizing at a "steady state" once the bulb's heat sinks kick in. This steady state is where manufacturers and independent testers like me take our final lumen readings.
